The Traveller’s Guide
Overview
Not good enough for Elysium, not bad enough for Tartarus: welcome to the Fields of Asphodel, where most of humanity ends up. Think of it as the Underworld’s sensible middle option, like a beige sofa that lasts forever.
Getting there
Live a perfectly ordinary life. Be kind sometimes, grumpy sometimes, and leave the washing up until the morning. The judges will do the rest.
What to see
Pale asphodel flowers to the horizon, ruined temples, mist that rolls in at exactly the right moment, and thousands of quiet souls wandering with no particular place to be.
Local etiquette
Avoid the River Lethe unless you want to forget everything, including where you parked. Speak softly, walk slowly and do not ask anyone what they used to do. They genuinely cannot remember.
